Bellevue, Wash. – Jan. 2012 – The board of directors of Ascentis Corporation, a market leader in easy-to-use human resources software, online payroll services, and human capital management (HCM) solutions, announced today the appointment of DJ Chhabra as chief executive officer. Chhabra succeeds retiring Ascentis CEO Les Goldstein.
Chhabra has been in the HCM industry for 23 years. Chhabra was most recently president of Enwisen, an HR communications software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider. During his tenure, Enwisen experienced substantial growth in revenue, market share and its product portfolio, and was successfully acquired in January of 2011 by Lawson Software. Prior to Enwisen, Chhabra was vice president of Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM applications, where he was responsible for global product strategy, HR development and business alliances.
“The requirements of HR and payroll functions have dramatically evolved as they become more integral to the strategic direction of a business. With its cutting-edge technology, Ascentis is addressing the changing and growing needs of the human capital management industry,” said Chhabra. “I am privileged to join the Ascentis team of talented professionals and to continue the tradition of delivering exceptional customer service and product excellence.”
“Within a dynamic HR technology market, software-as-a-service (SaaS) is on an upward trend,” according to a 2011 report by Towers-Watson titled An Expansive Landscape of HR Service Delivery Opportunities. More than half of the organizations surveyed were either using or planning to implement a SaaS solution, indicating a significant shift toward newer technologies. With its advanced SaaS HCM platform, Ascentis is well positioned to capture new market share.
“The fast-moving nature of our industry requires a leader who can inspire and innovate, especially in critical growth areas,” said Walter Turek, Ascentis’ executive chairman. “With his deep knowledge of the industry and his rich experience in translating new ideas into business opportunities, DJ is ideally suited to lead Ascentis.”
